How does the hay fever consultation work?

We will discuss your hay fever, your medical history and any treatments you may (or may not!) have tried up until now. If you've exhausted all other options and are at the end of you tether with hay fever, we may be able to prescribe and administer a stronger treatment that can potentially suppress hay fever symptoms for up to an entire season.

What causes hay fever?

Hay fever is nothing more than an allergic reaction. Pollen enters your body through the nose, mouth or skin, your body identifies it as a threat and it reacts. Unfortunately, most of the time it reacts by putting you in a cold-like state as it tries to flush the pollen from your system. Some people react to particular species of plant, while others react to any and all pollens.

What are the symptoms of hay fever?

This can vary from sufferer to sufferer. Some people immediately know when it's pollen season because their symptoms immediately kick in, while others might think it's a mild cold. In general the symptoms can include:

  • Watery or itchy eyes
  • A blocked or runny nose
  • Sneezing
  • Chest pain
  • Loss of smell
